Where do you go when you’ve got to requisition some catering in the city of Philadelphia? The answer: Waterfront Gourmet, where we’ve compiled a catering menu (created by the best culinary chemists, chefs, sandwich artisans, condiment kings, and sultans of salad that money—and the rush of a catering challenge—can buy) that is sure to send your tastebuds soaring into the vicinity of seventh heaven. It’s not options that we’ve got, it’s a flotilla of triple-decker clubs, tasty BLTs, Italian hoagies, wraps, and those sandwich trays that seem designed to feed a small village. We also sell the token bread and meat invention of Philadelphia: the cheesesteak, which purportedly was invented by Pat Olivieri when his hot dog stand was looking to spice things up a little bit. Though, not if Joey Vento, the creator of Geno’s had anything to say about it.
At Waterfront Gourmet, we’ve been Catering Philadelphia for the better part of a decade, and we love it. Our menus delight and satisfy crowds, no matter ...
... the size. When you see our array of sandwich specials, it’ll be the trial of your life to keep from drooling in front of your coworkers. We have so many options, even those guests who are dedicated snackers (or vegetarians!) will find something to munch on, and, god-willing, to love. We do the cooking fresh for each event, producing a full selection of catering options in as little as two hours. We offer free delivery throughout Philadelphia, saving you that sweet cash.
Since we opened in 2014, Waterfront Gourmet has become Philadelphia’s premier spot for inspired twists on deli-style sandwiches. For instance, our Asian Decker, which takes a classic club sandwich structure (the triple-decker), and adds east Asian flavor by swapping the turkey for Ichiban teriyaki chicken. Teriyaki is an ancient Japanese cooking technique, wherein chefs broil foods with a glaze of soy sauce, mirin, and sugar. Soy sauce we all have some acquaintance with, but mirin is a common Japanese condiment made from rice wine that became popular during the Sengoku period of civil war. It’s used to attain that elusive “umami” flavor—a savory taste often associated with broths and meats. It brings “body” to a dish, or sandwich, in this case. Along with umami, Ichiban teriyaki chicken brings with it notes of ginger, garlic, and brown sugar.
Another of our signatures is Ja-Make-Me Crazy, a wrap made with jerk chicken, salsa, lettuce, tomato, corn, red onions, and melted Vermont cheese. Jerk refers to a way of cooking chicken by using a marinade of allspice and habanero peppers, then slow-smoking the meat over pimento wood. It’s the barbeque style of the Caribbean.
These sandwiches are only a catering order away. Call us at Waterfront Gourmet for options. We take the hassle out of the ordering and delivery process with our large selection of scrumptious sandwiches that run the gamut from tuna salad to buffalo chicken wrap. Our assortment is perfect for weddings, parties, and corporate events. We provide a number of healthy options from a fresh fruit tray, to vegetables and a homey hummus dip. In addition, a salad tray can provide a healthy side to a catered work lunch.
If you are located in the 19102, 19123, 19106, 19146, or 19104 zip codes, in Center City, University City, Dilworth Plaza, City Hall or anywhere in the downtown area, we can arrange to deliver your Philadelphia catering on time, every time. For any questions, please don’t be shy and contact us at waterfrontgourmet.com. We’d be happy to discuss our food menu, catering Philadelphia options and pricing, as well as answer any questions that you may have.
