Hot Topic On Website Accessibility Draws Attendees Eager For Answers And Solutions To Fix

Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA - at November’s WordCamp Riverside 2019, Sumner Davenport presented a 90-minute fact-filled session on Web Accessibility. Afterwards, Ms. Davenport fielded questions for over an hour from web designers seeking solutions that they could give their clients. For the two weeks following the event Davenport received dozens of phone calls and emails with additional questions related to individual website problems.

Although many questions asked of Ms. Davenport are regarding the recent Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) decision to not to hear the Dominos Web Accessibility case, and the ever growing list of lawsuits filed under lack of ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act ) compliance, she refuses to educate on ADA compliance. Although several business owners have recently been sued for their websites not being accessible to persons with disabilities and filed in part under ADA alleging disability discrimination, Davenport says “ADA is ...

Davenport has been invited to speak at WordCamps throughout the year. WordCamp is a community-organized conference centered on the WordPress publishing platform. These events are organized, paid for, and attended by the local WordPress communities in accordance with the principles of the WordPress Foundation.
