Ayurvedic & Herbal Treatment For Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension

Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension is a disease that causes high blood pressure in the arteries. It goes from heart to your lungs. The tiny arteries are present in lungs that become blocked & narrow. It becomes harder to the blood to flow through them & raises pressure in the lungs. The heart has to work harder to pump blood through arteries & the muscles of the heart become weak. If pulmonary arteial hypertesion is not treated on time it can create a life-threatening situation. There are different causes for the development of this disease. Genes can also play a major role, various illnesses that lead to high blood pressure such as congestive heart failure, blood clots in the lungs, liver diseases, HIV lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, auto-immune disease, scleroderma, liver cirrhosis, lung diseases such as pulmonary fibrosis, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, sleep apnea, etc. Ayurvedic & herbal treatment is the best treatment for treating pulmonary arterial hypertension easily.

According to Ayurvedic point of view lungs are the seat of kapha dosha in the body. The cause of increase in kapha dosha is low agni at the level of rasa dhatu. Low agni form lung diseases, obstruct the circulation, makes blood concentrated, & heavy. Imbalanced kapha dosa give rise to increase in vata dosha. So ultimately it gives rise to pulmonary arterial hypertension. Low agni is caused due to different factors such as eating incompatible diet, wrong lifestyle, lack of exercise, excessive sleep, etc.

In allopathy there are only some medication after that the last option is surgery. But in Ayurveda there are different herbs that will act on the root cause of this disease. Chandigarh Ayurved Centre introduces a kit known as “Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension Care Kit” for the ayurvedic & herbal treatment of this disease. This kit contains four ayurvedic medicines that are mentioned below in detail:

1) Detox Premium Powder: Detox Premium Powder is a pure herbal formula that is prepared from herbo-mineral preparation. This herbal powder contains jahar mohra pishti, gandhak rasayan, tal sindoor, sudhyog tablet, shwet parpati, yavakshar, etc. These all ingredients in combination shows antioxidant, anti-inflmmatory, analgesic, carminative, & cardio-protective properties. 2) Navaka Guggulu: Navaka Guggulu are classical herbal tablets that are prepared from ingredients such as nagarmotha, musta, guggulu, trikatu (long pepper, ginger, black pepper), triphala (amalaki, haritaki, bibhitaki), etc. These all ingredients in combination shows antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anti-obesity, & anti-hyperlipidemic properties. All prperties in this herbal tablet reduces cholesterol levels, balances triglycerides, reduces pain in chest, general weakness, diziness, etc.
Recommended dosage: Take 2 tablets twice daily with normal water.

3) Trikatu Tablet: Trikatu tablets are herbal & pure ayurvedic preparation containing herbs such as maricha (Piper nigrum), pippali (Piper longum), & sonth (Zingiber officinale). These herbal ingredients show antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, digestive, carminative, hypolipidemic, etc properties. All these properties deal with the pain in chest, reduces cholesterol levels, deal with the blockage, etc. Ama formation is treated with the regular use of these tablets.
Recommended dosage: Take 1 tablet twice daily with normal water.

4) Panchsakar Churna: Panchsakar churna is a ayurvedic preparation containing ingredients like haritaki, shunthi, trivrit, pippali, & sauvarchal lavana. These ingredients in combination shows antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, digestive carminative, & immuno-modulator properties. The use of this herbal churna removes all toxins out from the body. It is vatakaphahara that balances the vata & kapha doshas in the body. The imbalance of these two doshas treated the pulmonary arterial hypertension naturally.
Recommended dosage: Take 1 teaspoonful with lukewarm water at bedtime.

The above mentioned four medicines give effective results to pulmonary arterial hypertension patients. Along with these Herbal & Ayurvedic treatment of Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension patient should follow some healthy tips that are beneficial:
1) Drink plenty of water & avoid excessive consumption of tea, coffee, & carbonated drinks such as cold drinks, soda, etc.
2) Include fresh fruits in your daily routine such as apple, pear, peach, oranges, strawberries, kiwi, grapes, etc. Avoid banana as it increases the kapha dosha in the body.
3) Avoid consumption of milk & milk products like curd, buttermilk, chese, etc as it increases the kapha dosha in the body that is responsible for pulmonary arterial hypertension disease.
4) Green vegetales are good for the patients such as cabbage, cauliflower, bottle gourd, bitter gourd, round gourd, ridge gourd, kale, spinach, fenugreek, coriander, etc.
5) The herb Arjuna is good for treating this disease. So take the bark of Arjun tree, dry it in sunlight, make a powder of this, & store it in a container. Take a teaspoonful of this powder, & add it in two cups of water. Boil this until remaining half cup. Strain the mixture, & drink this herbal decoction once or twice daily.
6) Rudraksha is another herb that is effective & good for pulmonary arterial hypertension patients. As the capsules from the pearl of rudraksha is available so consume one daily with a glass of water.
7) For reducing the swelling of the ankles & feet punarnava herb is good & effective. So take a teaspoonful of punarnava powder with a glass of water once or twice daily. The diuretic property of this herb will reduce swelling naturally.
8) Avoid consumption of processed food & frozen food items. Eating burgers, french fries, pizza, sweets, ice-creams, choclates, etc give rise to different diseases.
9) Do perform exercises, yoga, & meditation. Breathing exercises such as anulom-vilom pranayam, bhramari pranayam is good for pulmonary arterial hypertension patients. So do perform for thirty minutes daily.
10) Gokshura is also a effective herb for treating the swelling of the body that is seen in pulmonary arterial hypertension patients. So consume a teaspoonful of this powder with a glass of water once or twice daily.
