The last time we wrote on different types of toothbrushes was quite long back. In the recent past, we were busy trying out the different types of toothbrushes in order to bring to you the best one. Initially we though that going through the product information of the toothbrush was enough to deduce the conclusion, but, soon we realized that we could not be more wrong. Product information is not enough; you need to try each one of them before you can conclude your decision. Just like relationships, finding the right toothbrush is a complicated task. There is no perfect toothbrush as such. But there are different varieties thanks to the manufacturers who are aware of the environmental pollution and are coming up with solutions that will make brushing an eco-friendly affair. After a lot of experiment we can safely say that the bamboo toothbrush is the safest one. This makes sense because bamboo grows fast and is antibacterial in nature. There are some manufacturers who use wood to make the brush as well. However out of the two, the bamboo variety is better. ...
... When you are selecting the bamboo toothbrush you need to pay attention to the bristle as well. After all, that is the portion that will be inside your mouth to clean the teeth.

Some Common Varieties of Toothbrush Bristles:

The traditional bamboo toothbrush makes use of the pig hair for the bristles part. Yes, pig hair is 100% natural and compostable. However the pig hair is hollow inside thereby giving the bacteria an opportunity to grow. You can opt for this variety but make sure to sterilize it by soaking it in boiling water after every three to four days.

The other variety of bamboo toothbrush has nylon bristles. But you have to be sure that it is of the Nylon-4 type, which is made out of petroleum, and thus it is biodegradable. However, there is one risk factor here, how can you be sure that the nylon bristles are of Nylon-4 variety. They are expensive and hard to come buy as a result of which very few manufacturers really use it. All those who claim to are duping most of the buyers. Unless you are sure of it we suggest that you should not buy it.

And finally there are some bamboo toothbrushes in the market that claim to have bristles made out of 100% bamboo viscose, which means they are completely plastic, free. But this is again a debatable topic because if it is really so then the original makers who have patented it. If you search online you will find no such news on patent. Thus these claims don’t seem real.

If truth were told, we will suggest that the best option is to stick to electric toothbrush, as they are the most effective ones. What do you think? Share your viewpoints with us in the comments section. We would love to know which variety of toothbrush you use and what results you have got.
