It is not the motive of a restroom cubicle system manufacturer to embarrass the person using the loo with the gaps present under the modular restroom partition systems. There are plenty of reasons why these gaps exist in the first place and each of these reasons will make sense as we go through them one by one. Have a look at some of those reasons.

Cleanliness: Cleanliness is of the utmost importance in loos especially commercial, public and office loos. This is one of the main reasons that restroom partition systems do not have partitions all the way to the floor. When there is a gap between the floor and the partition, then it is much easier for one to clean the floor with ease.

In such cases the bathroom can also be washed down with a pipe as the fear of the water getting stagnated in one place is not there and is able to drain out with ease.

Deterrent: Since the visibility quotient is not null and void thanks to the gap under the restroom partitions present in the loos, the chances of using the enclosed space to vandalize the stalls ...
... and bathroom cubicles fall quite a lot. This is how one is able to protect the stalls from being drawn on or damaged as well.

Emergency Situations: Just imagine what would happen if in case someone was to slip and fall or even lose consciousness in a fully-enclosed bathroom cubicle? It would probably take a long time for people to notice that someone needs helps. That will not be the case with a bathroom cubicle thath has restroom partitions that do not go all the way down to the floor.

In such situations when a person needs help getting up after having fallen or fainted then one can easily make out from the floor of the cubicle that someone needs help.

Affordable: Another thing that contributes to the fact that restroom partitions are not all the way down to the floor of a bathroom is the fact that restroom partitions that do not go all the way to the floor are also affordable as they do not need to be custom made according to a particular bathrooms dimensions. Apart from this, they also do not as many materials to make either making it more economical.

Ventilation: Every bathroom needs good ventilation. Without a good ventilation system in place, the bathroom will end up becoming humid and a breeding ground for bacteria. When one has gaps between bathroom partitions, then the air circulation in the bathroom improves to a great extent. Of course bathrooms get stinky from time to time, but if a restroom cubicle had been fully enclosed then it would have been worse. Thanks to the air circulation provided by the gaps under the restroom partitions, bathrooms are truly more hygienic.

Visibility: In a stall that is fully enclosed one might not be able to tell which one is occupied and which one is not. As a result one might have to tap on every door to find that out. This is not only disturbing but also invasive when it comes to the privacy of the people using the loo. In modular restroom cubicles with gaps underneath, one is able to make out which stall is occupied and which is not. This saves time and also helps people feel more at ease.

These were some of the many reasons as to why the gap underneath restroom cubicles plays a major role in making the bathrooms more usable and hygienic as well.
