If you look up on the internet, you can see how techniques related to decorative interior painting is much more talked about in comparison to the use of color. We agree on how the sponging, stippling, rag-rolling walls and other processes of application are important, however, you cannot deny how color selection is equally important. After all, just wall colors and patterns will be visible once you put away the tools.

Here are some tips you can adopt in Nepal to get a perfect end result.

1. Before your first step towards your decorative interior painting, make sure you are choosing the right hue. It helps make your painting project perfect, just the way you imagined.

2. The safest way to go while using this approach would be sticking with the same color family, for instance, picking two greens or yellows.

3. With a two-color strategy, you can use one as a basecoat and the other as a glaze or wash to get a perfect finish.

4. If you are thinking of creating high contrast – combining lighter and darker shade – better shift to shades with similar values – similar lightness ...
... or darkness to soften the effect and make it aesthetically pleasing.

5. It is always better to use the darker shades as a base color and lighter one for the wash or glaze. If by chance, you err at the base, you can always cover up with multiple coats of wash or glaze to lighten the wall up and fix it.

6. Combining multiple colors sound fun, but it does not look as it sounds unless you are a professional with great color sense. Do not be tempted to pick more than two or three (at max), if you are not keen about walls looking like a circus. If you are picking more than that anyway, make sure to use one or more of them sparingly.

7. As it is hard to imagine how multiple colors go with one another, bring a tester sample. Test it out on the poster board before you apply. It will not just help you figure colors out, but also enable you to practice application techniques before you get your hands on those walls too.

It is a must to know how tricky it is scoring the exact color combination and effect as you imagined. However, if you follow these tips, it will definitely boost up your chances of success.
