Curacao Vacations - The Sights

Are you thinking of heading to Curacao for your next vacation? Well, you'll be delighted to know that this Caribbean gem has got more to offer than just pristine beach fronts. Needless to say whether you're young or old or somewhere in between, you will find something in the island to enjoy. Shall we break down things down?
The Curacao Sea Aquarium
Aquatic life is one of the island's biggest draws and for those who aren't too keen into getting in the water and experiencing underwater life up close, they can head on to the island's sea aquarium where they would be able to immerse themselves in the spectacle of the marine life found in the island. The place can get a bit crowded at times, after all it is one of the most popular attractions on the island, but it certainly is worth a visit.
The Curacao Underwater Park
Located right next to the aquarium is the underwater park, which is basically a protected marine area that is was specially set aside for both marine biologists and divers who are working in an area that's referred to as the Bapor Kibra or The Broken Boat. It was named after ...
... the steamer, the Oranje Nassau that sank right off shore back in 1906.
Christoffel Park
If you're ready to spend some time on land, the truly stunning Christoffel Park is the right place for you. Located in the west end of the island, this park is home to Mt. Christoffel, the highest point in the island. It is also the natural habitat of a plethora of flora and fauna that includes birds, lizards, an orchid forest as well as nesting sea turtles.
Vacations in Curacao aren't going to be complete without a trip to one of the island's 38 beaches. If you don't have enough time to see them all then here are a few that you should definitely take the time to visit.
Kontiki Beach
If you're looking for a great place to do water sports as well as a place with some delicious seaside cooking then Kontiki Beach is the place to be. The surf in this area is pretty tame compared to others thus making it the most ideal place for children to play in.
Mambo Beach
If it's the nightlife that you're after then Mambo Beach should be your destination. The place is frequented by party-goers because of the frequent performances by some of the island's resident artists.
Jan Thiel Beach
If you are up for some lounging on cement quays along a large open bay then this is the beach for you. This area is well known for having excellent conditions for underwater activities such as snorkeling and diving.
The best bit about these beaches is the fact that a lot of them are located near Curacao accommodations thus making it easy for people to come and go whenever they please. Now, if you are looking for a more private place to spend your time in the island. You might want to go and check out luxury hotels Curacao. A lot of these hotels actually have beach fronts of their own or private walkways to beach which should provide you with the privacy you need.
Hilton Curacao
With two private beaches, a casino and a lagoon pool, the Hilton certainly does not scrimp when it comes to providing their guests with the best amenities possible. So if you have the cash to burn, this would be the best place for you to stay in.
The Curacao Marriott Beach Resort and Emerald Casino
Located just 15 minutes away from the Hato International Airport, the Marriott Curacao has its own private white sandy beach as well as ocean views which should certainly take your breath away.
