The well-being method of repair of crack specially for cast iron is our own method and in most of the cases satisfactory results are not obtained.

In case of large engine blocks the crack repair by welding is not at all recommended due to stresses develop the main journal housings used their original profile and alignment which has to be within 30-60 microns.

We have recently undertake repair of lower engine block of wartsila 18B32 where the casting was broken into pieces measuring 1360 mm by 290 mm. The complete piece was damaged and was replaced by new casting piece. The engine after repair is performing satisfactory, the end user has saved considerable amount by avoiding the purchase of new engine block by the manufacturer.
