India is a place where the economic backbone depends on the transport system, India is a place too where vehicle theft is a big issue, thieves are enough efficient that they can steal your vehicle in a couple of minutes. Protect the vehicle from steeling, bad driving and all unwanted events install GPS tracking devices is the best option. If you visit the market you can see that various GPS models are available in the market for various car types even for two-wheeler vehicles.

How the GPS device works on the bike

The owner of the bike can check the location of it in real-time.
The owner gets notify with the ignition on/off alerts.
The device sends an over-speed alarm when the rider crosses the pre-set speed limit by the owner.

The device sends geo-fence in/out alert also when the user crosses the fenced area as well return into the fenced area.
After installing the device, by that particular company’s application owner can check the speed, total engine hour (after installing the device how long time the bike runs), the odometer reading and ...
... many more things.

Now if you go to purchase a GPS device to avail of all those features for your bike, two types of GPS devices you will get for your bike. One is with the battery GPS device and another is without battery. Here I want to clarify one thing that with both types of tracker you can get those features. Then what is the difference between them? Is there any chance that the GPS device can reduce your car functionality?

A GPS device that comes with an internal battery means that the device has internal power back up, internal storage capacity. On installing time if the technician connects it with battery wire the device will get power supply when the vehicle is in motion, though it has an internal battery it consumes power so when the user on the ignition next time the device will not take time to connect with GPS and sends data promptly.

Now a GPS device that doesn’t has an internal battery, no internal battery means no power storage capacity. This kind of device whether it connects with bike battery or with ignition wire, for working properly it always consumes power from bike battery directly or via ignition wire. Whether the bike stops the device also stops its task. This kind of device does not damage your bike battery but it can drain the battery.
