From April 1, 2013, all cosmetic import India should be registered with CDSCO which is the licensing authority under the office of Drug controller general of India.

The available guidance will help all small businesses to understand and remain in compliance with the FDA regulations. Some of the common regulations to be followed for registration of the acne products are:

● Benzoyl peroxide is recognized as safe and effective and an active ingredient in acne products.
● All new warnings, as well as directions, must be mentioned in the labeling of OTC acne drug products that consist of benzoyl peroxide.
● All the labeling requirements have been revised to make sure about the consistency with the standardized drug facts.
● Along with all these regulations CDSCO set some restrictions for the use of Isotretinoin, which is used as a product for the treatment of severe acne.

So, these are a few regulations set by CDSCO for registration of acne products in India. Any individual intending to introduce those products in the Indian market should follow all these regulations very strictly.
