Production Line Leader Concord, Ontario

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead and communicate all issues in pre-shift and cross shift meetings
Oversee employee job rotation and distribution of work assignments and provide guidance to a team member
Ensure each Team Member is performing standardized work
Follow maintenance procedures for all machines (TPM)
Assist in coordinating and performing routine changeovers and set-up activities according to production schedule and
customer requirements
Assist supervisor with overtime scheduling
Conduct daily Layered Process Audits (LPA) and implement corrective actions when required
Conduct SPC checks and first offs as per customer requirements
Ensure standardized work compliance from all team members including performing error proof checks
Assist with training and orientation of new employees and maintain the training matrix
Complete end of shift reporting and ensure work area is standard for the next shift
Participate in and comply with the continuous improvement ideas

EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: PERFORMANCE MEASURES:

Secondary School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Minimum 3 years related work experience in
automotive manufacturing required
Ability to provide guidance, coaching/mentorship to
team members
Computer literate (MS Office-Word, Excel, Outlook)
Operations Strategy Implementation
Operational Principles
MAFACT Implementation
MAFACT Audits

CORE COMPETENECIES & SKILLS:

Must possess leadership and interpersonal skills and be able to relay instructions clearly
Mechanically inclined
Effective communication, organizational, time management skills
Understanding of lean manufacturing, an asset
Licensed forklift operator, an asset
Able to lift heavy objects specific to the operation
Ability to understand and operate all mechanical equipment in designated work cells
Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems
Must have strong awareness of safety
Must be flexible to rotate between jobs
