The Biggest Rail-fed Oi Depot In India - Nayara

Nayara Energy Limited, 49.13% of which is held by Rosneft Oil Company, has operationalised the first state-of-the-art rail-fed petroleum oil lubricants depot.
According to the company press release, the depot, spread over 50 acres, has a capacity of handling over 16,000 kilolitres of oil products, which will be supplied from the company’s refinery at Vadinar in Gujarat.
B Anand, chief executive officer, Nayara Energy said, “The addition of our new depot in Wardha is in line with our commitment to create world-class assets in a sustainable manner to fuel India’s growing energy demands. This, being our first rail-fed depot, will be an important step towards enhancing our supply infrastructure in the region.”
The company has also commissioned a 300-kilo-volt-ampere (kVA) solar power plant, which is expected to generate 4,50,000 units per year.

The company added that it has also inaugurated an Upper Primary School building at Nimgaon village in Wardha and plans to provide mobile medical units in four villages around the depot, in the next phase of its community development programme.

The company which is called Nayara Energy post-acquisition owns India’s second-largest single-site refinery at Vadinar, Gujarat with a current capacity of 20 million tonnes per annum (MMTPA). Also, the company has over 5,000 retail outlets across the country.

Nayara Energy has also commissioned a 300-kVA solar power plant that is expected to generate 4,50,000 units/year. The depot will further house a vapour recovery unit with unique hybrid technology, which is a first-of-its-kind in India.
