Locking your device is an excellent way to protect your important files. You should always ensure that you keep a strong password and lock it when not using it. Here is how you can do so.

The method of locking the Windows 10 device

Go for using the Windows Lock button

Firstly, press the combination of the Windows+L button on your keyboard.
The PC will immediately get locked.
You should write the passcode whenever you return to use your device.
Use Cntrl+Alt+Delete (Windows lock shortcut)
For locking your device, you need to press Control+Alt+Delete.
Next, tap on the Options screen.
Lastly, click on Lock.
Use Start Menu to lock the screen

Firstly, choose the Start menu.
Then, choose the user avatar for the Windows account. It will be placed on the left-hand side of the display.
After that, choose Lock.
Turning on the screen saver to automatically lock the computer

Firstly, go to the Control Panel.
In the search bar located on the right-hand side corner, you need to write ‘screen saver’.
After that, choose the Change screen saver option.
Next, put the duration your device should wait before beginning the screen saver.
After that, choose ‘On resume, display logon screen’.
Lastly, tap on OK.

Firstly, ensure your phone is turned on, unlocked and not far from PC.
Then, go to Windows’ Settings on PC.
Into the search bar, you need to write ‘Bluetooth’.
Next, tap on Enter.
After that, choose Bluetooth and the rest of the device settings.
If it is not switched on, choose the Bluetooth option. It shall change into blue color. This means it has been turned on.
Then, choose the + after the ‘Add Bluetooth or other device’.
After that, go to the Add a device window and choose Bluetooth.
Next, choose your phone whenever it gets displayed in the given options.
Note that the notifications shall get displayed on the computer as well as phone. Accept it.
Then, return to Windows’ Settings.
After that, choose Home.
Next, click on Accounts.
Then, choose sign-in options.
After that, move downwards.
Next, choose ‘Allow Windows to automatically lock your device when you’re away’.
Ensure to follow the instructions carefully and keep your system updated to save it from harmful software.
