When Cbd Oil Doesn't Work

Firstly, we're aware that "When CBD Oil Doesn't Work" sounds like a shockumentary (if that isn't a word, it totally should be) shown on repeat at 1am every night on some obscure TV channel. But don't worry, what we're here to discuss is nowhere near that scary, and is hopefully substantially more interesting.
Sometimes, you may find you take CBD oil and do not feel the expected effects, or indeed any effects at all. So, if you are wondering why CBD oil is not working for you, there's a few things to consider, let's get straight into it.
Different Responses to CBD Oil
To start, it is important to remember that everyone's body is different, and will react in different ways to CBD oil, so just because you have heard from someone who got a specific effect from a certain oil, it doesn't mean that oil will do the same for you.
If you are new to CBD oils, start with a low strength oil, no more than 5% (consider as low as 1%) to see how your body reacts. If you feel little to no effect, the chances are you can try a stronger dose, but it's better to start too light than ...
... too strong.
The Quality of CBD Oil
The next thing to consider if you are feeling no effects from the CBD oil you are taking is the quality. Regulation in the CBD market is limited at this point, while the EU has laws on how much THC content CBD oil can have (no more than 0.2%) there are few laws governing everything else.
This means that if you use a less than trusted supplier, you may be taking CBD oil that contains no CBD, or has the wrong quantity compared to what is advertised. CBD oils from some suppliers may also have something other than CBD in them.
The advice here is simple, be sure to use a trusted, well-respected supplier (cheeky wave) to ensure that you are getting what you order.
What Are the Effects of CBD Oil?
It's all well and good knowing what might be wrong if the CBD oil you are using is not producing the expected effects, but that only works if you know what the expected effects are.
If you are new to CBD oil and don't know what to expect, then it's tough to know whether what you're feeling is what you are supposed to feel, so let's take a look at those effects.
Let's start with the obvious, is you are taking CBD with the intention of feeling a ‘high' like you would get from THC (so we've heard) then you're going to be disappointed. Unlike THC, CBD is not a psychoactive molecule, and will not produce that ‘high', it's not what it's for.
So, we cannot speak directly about the positive effects that CBD may have from a medical perspective, (others do, like here, for example), but we can discuss the science a little.
CBD works with the cannabinoids that naturally occur inside the human body. What's that? Naturally occurring cannabinoids?
That's right, you have an endocannabinoid system, which effects various things, including pain, depression, and memory.
When this system is out of balance, it can have negative effects on your health. Therefore, if you were to take something that could improve the balance within your endocannabinoid system, hypothetically, the effects would include a relaxed state of mind, pain relief, and assistance with certain neurological disorders which are affected by that system.
Basically, if you were to take CBD oil, you could, again, hypothetically, expect to feel better within yourself, perhaps a little more chilled, maybe a little more motivated, possibly some pain could be relieved, it's a world of exciting mystery to be discovered.
Different Effects for Different People
Different oils, in terms of strength, especially, will have various impacts, it very much depends on your body and how it reacts.
Full disclosure, for some people, CBD may not have much of an effect, as with all other things, there is no one-stop fix for everybody.
However, evidence suggests that there are effects from CBD oils on the majority of people who use them, and while these effects may differ, they are very rarely negative as long as the oil is taken sensibly.
Be sensible, we mean what was said above, start with a low strength, work up if you feel you need it, and when you find the right strength for you, stick with it, and you'll be good.
And remember, if the CBD oils you're taking aren't working, you might be using the wrong supplier.
If you have any questions about the effects of CBD oil, or you think the oil you are taking isn't working for you, feel free to shoot us a message and we'll be happy to discuss it with you.
