Ramadhan or Ramadan is the ninth month of the Muslim calendar in which whole Muslim world observes fasting for 29 to 30 days from dawn till dusk. This month is the most revered month among others. There are countless blessings conferred upon the believer when he is fasting even his sleep is counted as ibadat. It is the month when the door of mercy of Allah is open wide for the believers and gates of hell are closed.

In Pakistan, there are countrywide preparations to welcome Ramadan, from markets to hawkers, from household to restaurants, everyone is busy in making lucrative offers to make Ramadan more fancy and extravagant. This special welcome of Ramada has been observed for ages. Women at the household devise the meal plans or menu for seher (early morning) or Iftar (fast-breaking time usually dusk). Water intake should be monitored as usually, we have Ramadan in hot and scorching weather when the issues of dehydration are on the rise, so one should take as much water as possible after the iftar till the seher time. To beat the heat and body needs, the liquid should be added to the daily meal. Other than a physical diet one should also take care of food for the soul. Ramadan is the month when the reward of every good deed is multiply so one should give charity, help poor and should take part in every charitable work. Our soul strives to be feed on positive activities. All Supplications and ibadat should be done to invoke Allah’s mercy not to show off the world.

Ramadan offers a great deal of rewards for the believers who perform umrah in this sacred month as performing umrah this month makes it a lesser Hajj. Every year millions of Muslims gather together and resonate with the name of Allah during the circumambulation (tawaf) of Kabbah, the house of Allah.
