Children are like wet cement, you can mould them whatever the way you want. Teaching discipline and inculcate the reading habit to children under five is challenging and time-consuming. You cannot force children to learn discipline in a day. In fact, for anything you cannot force them. So, teaching children under five is art. Below are some unusual ways to teach healthy habits to children below five or six.

Let them free to make the floor their canvas. When growing children grip a pencil for the first time, they usually write on walls and wherever they want. Allow your growing child to make a mess on the floor or walls of a room. Many washable paints are available in the home improvement market. So, don't stop them to learn the way they want. It may sound weird, but you can encourage the kid to write alphabets and numbers in a fun environment.

Allow them to play with pebbles and sand. Instead of stopping them to go out, it is better to set them free. Let them make their clothes dirty. Collect some smooth pebbles in your backyard and encourage children to count them. Under your observation, monitor kids how they are treating pabbles. You can involve them to teach how to count these pabbles. It will automatically teach them counting and bring them close to nature. In your backyard, you can secure an area to collect a mound of sand because it helps children to learn shapes. Help them to make a castle and in between teach them shapes.

Playing with flowers. It is nature that helps us to learn multiple things around us. Flowers are an excellent way to teach children three primary colours, They can able to identify colours and differentiate them. The bright colour of the flowers always seems attractive. Children are attracted to flowers easily. While they are playing the backyard, encourage them to collect flowers in different colours. You are indirectly teaching them colour identification.
