India is the sixth-largest producer of chemicals in the world and third in Asia. The Indian chemical industry is estimated to be USD 214 by the end of 2019, growing at 9 percent annually. The sector is contributing 2.51 percent in the Indian GDP and over 15% in the manufacturing industry. Most importantly, chemicals form a vital part of India’s export which accounts for 9 percent of the total value.

Agrochemicals - The chemicals used in protecting crops against the weeds and pests are known as agrochemicals. They include insecticide, fungicide, and weedicide. 

Petrochemicals - The products derived from petroleum are known as petrochemicals. Two standard petrochemical classes are olefins and aromatics for the industrial applications. 

Fertilizers - Fertilizers are organic and inorganic materials that can supply the essential chemicals necessary for plant growth and development. India, being an agricultural country, depends on these chemicals to increase crop yield per hectare to feed the growing population and export to other countries.
