Electrician Etobicoke, Ontario

Key Responsibilities:

Troubleshoot AC/DC drives
Perform preventative maintenance for electrical and pneumatic control systems
Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
Move machinery as necessary to dismantle, repair and/or adjust as needed.
Build new panels and replace components as directed
Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as Robots, injection moulding machines, blowers and fans.
Performs diagnostic measures and repairs malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, circuit boards and light fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables
Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers to identify malfunction
Replaces and/or rewires faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, bearings and motors and positions sensing devices
Experience with safety circuit components installation, troubleshooting and repairs

Education, Qualifications and Experience:

Licensed Industrial Electrician (442-A)
4+ years’ experience as an Electrician in a manufacturing facility
Allen Bradley PLC experience (PLC5/SLC/Compact Logix)
Must have experience with robotics, pneumatics, and hydraulic systems
Must have experience with servo controls, variable frequency drives and motor controls
Panel building experience
Must have advanced troubleshooting and repair skills
Must have working knowledge of electronic systems
Must be able to read and follow blueprints and electrical schematic diagrams
Must be familiar with lock out and safety practices
Must be able to understand technical instruction and operate a personal computer
Good oral and written communication skills
Must be able to work well with minimum supervision in a team environment
