Do Not ‘front' And Cheat Your Insurers!
It has been found that the Britons are finding new ways to save money on motor insurance. They are taking insurers for a ride. Fronting is something that parents are increasingly making use of. Parents with children who are known to be breaking the law by fronting. It is believed that one in ten drivers have done this on their car insurance policy. What is even more startling is that one in four people wrongly think doing this is legal. The strange thing is that though many are aware that this is illegal, still they would do it to save money.
Over half of the drivers are not aware whether fronting is legal or not. People are oblivious of the reasons and still taking on the risk to go ahead with this. Most of the drivers are lying to their insurer to save money. They are playing a very risky game by doing so. The fact is that a motorist claiming to be the main driver, while they are not is a risky situation.
It can put your life to risk. It is certainly a dangerous move. It may allow you to save money in the short term on your premiums. Unfortunately, if you are caught, your insurance will be invalidated and a ...
... younger driver could face court - charged with driving without insurance. Just think over it? Do you feel the need to invite such a situation? Certainly not, no? Then why get involved in something that can jeopardise your life?
Who are more prone to front?
The figures reveal that it is women who are exposed as more likely to front than male drivers (43 per cent vs. 37 per cent). Women involve themselves more in this kind of activity as compared to men.
Who are more likely to commit fraud and do this?
According to the research, Londoners (52 per cent) and those who live in the North West (47 per cent) are most likely to do so. Hence, it means that geographically the regions that are involved in this kind of practice differ.
There is another side to this coin though. The poll also reveals that two fifths of drivers (38 per cent) would not run the risk of fronting. They believe that if they were caught doing so, their insurance claim might not pay out. They are aware of this fact. However, this number is very small. Very few are rightly practising the norm.
The need of the hour is that younger drivers must be made aware that having their own insurance policy will over a period of time allow them to build up their own ‘no claims discount'. This will go a long way in reducing the cost of the policy in the future.
