The word occult often causes fear, but in fact it simply means secret, mysterious, mystical or beyond the range of human knowledge.

Psychics are tuned into the unknown. When a young psychic discovers they have "odd powers", they assume everyone has them, and tend to ignore it. However when entering adulthood, they soon realize that they are "different", and the so-called "power" is, in fact, a gift. The world of the unknown knows no time, so quite often after having a meeting with a psychic, if what they tell us does not occur within a week or so, we assume that they are fakes. Occasionally, the psychic can give a time span, but more often then not, they cannot, so before jumping to the wrong conclusion, it is better to make notes of the reading, put the notes away, and re-read them every couple of months.

Most psychics have to pass rigorous tests before joining any company advertising psychic readings. The company has to protect its good name, and cannot afford to take on charlatans. They have to be totally convinced the person really does have psychic abilities, and have many different methods of testing them

Many people, highly educated, consult psychics, and many prominent members of society admit to having their own special psychic. They say the guidance they receive helps them enormously. They obviously must have had some very good results to continue consulting them.

Many people are sceptics, and think the whole idea of psychics is ridiculous, and will set out trying to prove they are all phoney. Over hundreds of years they still have not proved anything, otherwise the average person would not even consider consulting them, more importantly, return for a further consultation. Even if we are unsure, who in their right mind would turn down a trip into the unknown?
