The city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil has to be one of the most interesting locations on earth thanks to its plentiful of events, parties, celebrations along with the other famous things that made Rio world-wide known, like the unique Carnival, great weather conditions, exciting nightlife and lovely beaches. With these two articles we will briefly discover what the city of Rio has to offer for its inhabitants and tourists in April.

We shall start off with the Good Friday celebration which will be held on the first day of the month at Catedral Metropolitana de São Sebastião do Rio de Janeiro. It is a day of fasting and abstinence for many Christians and the ceremony will start at 3 PM with a special commemorative liturgy which will celebrate the Passion and Death of Christ. At 5 30 PM, after the ceremony has ended, the faithful accompany the Procession of the Dead Lord, which will be headed by the Archbishop of Rio de Janeiro.

... of Christ portrays the most important moment in the life, Passion and death of the Christ. On 3-4th of the month, the Easter Virgil And Resurrection Sunday will be held at Catedral Metropolitana de São Sebastião - Av. República do Chile - Centro; Igreja Matriz de Nossa Senhora de Copacabana - Rua Hilário de Gouveia, 36 - Copacabana . It is the most important day in the Christian calendar and will be celebrated properly with a mass on Saturday evening at 8 PM which will be followed on Sunday by the Resurrection Mass.

Between 6-14th in Rio it will be organized the Expecting Mothers And Baby Apparel Fair at Riocentro - GL Events Centro de Convenções - Av. Salvador Allende, 6.555 - Pavilhões 1, 2, 3 and 4 - Jacarepaguá. This fair has a tradition of more than 19 years and this year it will present to expecting mothers a wide variety of items for pregnancy outfits and other products at fair prices along with articles which will be brought by international exhibitors.

Between 8-14th of April, the 13th edition of the Rio Boat Show will be organized at Marina da Glória - Av. Infante Dom Henrique s/nº - Aterro do Flamengo. It is the most charming and biggest boat exhibition in all Latin America which will show some of the most luxurious and modern boats in Brazil.

Moving on to a more serious event - 3rd National Bio-Combustible Symposium will be held at Auditório da FIRJAN - Av. Graça Aranha, 1 - Centro on 8-9th of April. This important event will aim at spreading existing and innovating technologies, with the main idea of improving the skills of the professionals.

The last event presented in the first part of our article is Harvard University Magnetic Resonance International Symposium which will be held at Windsor Barra Hotel - Av. Sernambetiba, 2.630 - Barra da Tijuca on 9-10th of the month. The main objective behind this event is to enlighten the public about the numerous innovations that had been made on magnetic resonance, with speakers from Harvard University.
