5 Things To Consider For Short Intense Workout Training
While many fitness enthusiasts find comfort in lining up and waiting to get on the treadmill at the gym, many researchers have found evidence that the benefits of short intense exercise can greatly enhance your work out routine.
Here are 5 things to look at when considering the benefits of Short Intense Workouts:
1.Time
2.Return of Investment
3.Interest
4.Practice
5.Longevity
Time: Obviously this is the greatest benefit to short intense workouts, because you don't have to spend hours at the gym. You can get on with the millions of other things on your list to do, without waiting for your machine of choice, and feeling spent at the end of it.
Return of Investment: Yes, this may be a financial term, but it also works well for exercise. Everybody wants to see a positive result when they invest both time and money into something, and in this circumstance you are investing the time and money to see growth in your physique. After a lengthy effort you don't want minimal change in your body when you exercise, and short intense workouts will give you positive results for ...
... minimized time of investment.
Interest: Let's face it; running on the treadmill as opposed to a short intense training session is extremely boring. It would be like seeing a batter strike out as opposed to a home run on the ‘play of the day' highlights. And seriously, you are just as unengaged in seeing a batter strike out as the next person.
Practice: It is way easier to perform a short intense workout, period. You can easily do these things at the gym, or in the comfort of your own home. For lifts, you only need a bar or a dumbbell; for medicine ball tosses you only need a ball and a wall; and jumps can be done almost anywhere. Steady work-out routines need a machine, or a lot of space.
Longevity: Age is a something we cannot avoid, and as we age we tend to lose the ability to generate force. This is obvious in common falls with our elders. Short intense workouts can help reduce this change in ability, which we can naturally lose with age. Long steady cardiovascular workouts do not generally reap in this benefit the way that Short Intense Workouts can.
Finally, although short intense workouts are extremely beneficial and easy to do, they are not all that easy if you are not in the proper shape to perform them. So before considering jumping into some short intense workouts, do your research, and make sure you have the training and knowledge before performing and benefiting the results.
