There is state level or federal level funding cutbacks, and even budget cuts that cause great decreases in the amount available for utilization on school resources. This diminishes the influence of the Montgomery County public schools, preventing them from reaching their goals in education to the county's students, and preventing the students from getting the education they deserve from the Montgomery County education system. Each students deserves to have the same opportunities whether they are paying for school or receiving a free public education, and the Montgomery County Public Schools Educational Foundation, Inc. fully promotes and encourages this concept providing many resources to public schools within the county that otherwise could not be obtained.
The Foundation is not only providing the hope the schools and parents need in order to trust the Montgomery County education system, they are providing the chances for expanded learning that many times aren't available to all students. Some students are denied a proper education due to lack of funding and the MCPS Foundation understands that all students should have the same adequate education that is provided to any other student.
When students aren't able to access the materials and resources needed for adequate learning, they are held back severely, sometimes preventing advancement causing gaps in education and loss of motivation. This can cause many students to lose faith in the educational system, but not the Montgomery County education system. With the full support of the MCPS Foundation, there is a strong structure holding the public schools within the county together and giving opportunities to those that otherwise would be without. It is a new chance for a bright future all students deserve.
