The art museum Ny Carlsberg Glypotek has an impressive range of exhibits taking in French, Greek, Roman and Etruscan art and is also well worth a look.

What to do: The family-owned Carlsberg brewery is a surprisingly interesting place to visit, all with the prospect of an ice-cold beer to revive you at the end. Tivoli gardens is also a fantastic option: enjoy the beautiful landscape during the day and the carnivals and shows during the night.
