Convert Ost To Pst When You Face Background Synchronization Errors
Are you getting synchronization errors while connecting to Microsoft Exchange Server using MS Outlook? Is your mailbox inaccessible because synchronization cannot complete successfully? Well, the problem generally occurs when OST file approaches 1.82 GB in size. It is the maximum size limit for the OST (Offline Storage Table) file. In such cases, the OST to PST conversion cannot take place and thus the mailbox remains inaccessible.
In a practical scenario, you may come across the below error message, when you try to synchronize an OST file to Microsoft Exchange Server mailbox that has reached 1.82 GB size limit:
Task ‘Microsoft Exchange Server' reported error (0x00040820): Errors in background synchronization. In most cases, further information is available in a synchronization log in the Deleted items folder.
It recommends you to check the synchronization log, but synchronization log doesn't exist in Deleted Items folder in in OST file or Deleted Items folder in Microsoft Exchange Server mailbox. After this issue, the OST PST conversion does not complete.
Grounds of the problem

You can work around this problem by using any of the below methods:
1)Permanently remove all the unwanted items from your Exchange Server based email folder, which is set to be synchronized to the OST file. Use Shift + Del key combination for deleting the email items permanently.
2)Move your data from a synchronized folder to any non-synchronized folder on Microsoft Exchange Server.
3)Move your significant data from synchronized folder to PST file and then permanently remove data from synchronized folder.
4)If the OST file is damaged and cannot be converted into PST, use third-party applications to Convert OST to Pst File.
