Perfect Wedding Gifts
Trying to get the perfect wedding gift for someone is never going to be easy. If your newlywed friends have already been sharing a house, they are probably going to have most of the kitchenware or bed linen that they''ll need; alternatively, if they''re moving in together, you want to make sure you get something which suits their tastes.
When fretting about what they''re going to like, though, it''s good to remember that they''re almost guaranteed to be happy with whatever it is that you decide to give them. For this reason, it''s probably best just to get something which you think you''d like to be given if you were in the same situation as them, and not to get too stressed about it all.
Depending on your budget, of course, a nice bit of furniture could be a perfect gift. Unlike something small and kitsch which will go on a shelf and will probably never be looked at again once the honeymoon is over, a nice coffee table or a classy pouf will be used on a daily basis time and time again.
On the other hand, household goods are always well received, and you could get them some nice wine glasses or whisky tumblers. ...
... This could be perfect if the newlyweds are putting together a collection of household implements for the first time, and they''ll probably think of you every time they use those implements you gave them.
Thinking along completely different lines, an equally interesting present could be a painting or print of some sort. In this current economical climate, people are generally spending their money on things that you can hold onto rather than trusting in share figures, and a good buy from an art dealer could not only provide nice decoration but could also be a savvy investment.
Similarly, an old photo of an occasion you all shared could be really lovely, even more so if it''s presented in a nice frame. Some outlets even offer a service of printing a book with photos provided by you, leaving you with a product that resembles a glossy magazine rather than a homemade photo album.
The area in which you could potentially make your mark is in alternative and kooky gifts. As long as they are somehow practical, then they''ll go down well: a ceramic chocolate holder, for instance, or an egg cup with an extended area in which to put the shell pieces, could hit that tone just right.
But at the end of the day, you can agonise over how exactly what it is you''re going to get them as much as you like: they''re always going to like it. You could be getting them anything from a new dog kennel to a good DVD and they''ll probably be equally grateful either way.
