Carpet and wood are traditional floor coverings. To add a more luxurious look and feel to any floor, many people feel adding stone is a more glamorous look. Granite and marble are beautiful, durable and give a feel of luxury to any décor. Because of the consistency of stone materials, the installation of these natural stones takes greater preparation of the surface of the floor. When laying fabricated wood looking floors for example, installation is completely different. The wood floors have a floating effect. The pieces interlock and need expansion and contraction space according to its environment, so a soft more pliable floor preparation is required. For this purpose, a luxury floor saddle of a premium material such as marble can be used.

Just like a horse saddle is the protective device used between the horse and the rider, a floor saddle is the device used between the constructed floor material of a room or building and the finished floor topping of any desired room. When using natural, hard floor coverings made of marble or granite, the saddle is used to get the base floor material to a very level, flat ...
... and strong surface, so the natural stones will not crack or break under normal weight of furniture and wear and tear of humans moving across the floor surface.

When adhesive material is applied to the exterior surfaces, this allows ceramic tiles or other like material to adhere to the side walls and top of the saddle. The saddle is fastened to the underlying floor at the foot of a door opening. This is done by driving nails through apertures in the nailing strips into the floor beneath. Adhesive material such as plaster is applied over the exterior surfaces of the side walls and top of the saddle and tiles are can applied to the adhesive to cover the saddle with a tile surface.

Using natural stone flooring will always be unique. Since this material is a product of nature, the design, color and shades of the stones will be different. No two pieces will appear the same. This is the beauty of natural stone. Even though the shades of color will blend with each other, the design within each piece of stone will be unique. There is no cookie cutter look to marble and granite stone flooring pieces. The individual personality of each piece along with the shade blending of each piece of luxury stone is what makes this flooring so inviting. The cost is well worth the investment.
