1. Change A Desktop Background
Desktop is the first screen that appearance on your monitor when you boot your computer. You can customize it by several ways. Mac desktop background supports PSD, JPEG, PNG, TIFF and GIF files.

2. Change Window's background
You can also modify and change a window background. Press Cmd+1 in a finder window to view it as an icon. Then press Cmd+J to show View Options. In view options, switch to any color of your choice and picture and click Select. Mac by default has a list of images, but you can select your images for this matter.

3. Label tool bar

... you can label them. To do that, either hover your mouse arrow over the icon and a pop-up will show you its name. You can also right click that particular icon and select Icon & Text to show label for it.

4. Customize Dock shortcuts
You can customize Items at the right of the Dock. Applications folder is represented by the icon of the last item added. You can have more descriptive generic icon by right-clicking the item and then switch to folder to stack. There are many things you can do with dock to customizes it such as - drag and drop items, rearrange them etc.

5. Change alert sound
Go to System Preferences and select Sound. You can select a sound which you want to be played when system gives you an alert. You can also use sound of your choice.

6. Drag and drop
Drag and drop is one of the most fantastic features of Mac. With this feature, you can drag almost anything across the applications and drop them anywhere you want. It saves many keyboard strokes and key-presses. Just click and hole mouse button on the item you want to move and drag it to the location where you want it to be pasted.

7. Folder shortcuts
Finder window as a Sidebar at the left. You can drag any folder into this to make it quickly accessible. You can also add files to the sidebar.

8. Multiple print
If you want to print multiple files of same type at once, you have an option for it. Go to System Preferences and select Print and Fax option. Then in Finder select the multiple files of same kind you want to print. Then Go to File and select print.
