One thing that parents and teachers have to start to realize, and many are already realizing is that pesten is a serious problem in schools today. This problem has gotten to be so serious that many schools are working to stop pesten from occurring. They are trying to make children aware of their actions and also punishing the bullies who prey on others. More needs to be done, however, as this practice continues despite all the best efforts of schools, counselors and parents.

There are certain steps that can be taken to stop pesten. The first step any parent needs to take is to teach their own child how they can stop pesten themselves. All parents should do this, regardless of whether or not their child is a victim of pesten. The more parents who are aware of the problem that pesten causes, the more who get involved in the cause to stop pesten, the more the problem can be controlled.

Pesten is not just harmless child play. It is serious and has very serious consequences for all involved, most of all to the victims of the bullies. The bullies usually have a problem that needs to be addressed. A lack ...
... of empathy is a dangerous personality trait for anyone to have and can lead to sociopath behavior. In fact, the pesten is already demonstrating that behavior by tormenting someone who is smaller and more helpless than themselves. This problem needs to be addressed. In some cases, the bully may not realize the consequences of their actions. If made aware of how their pesten can hurt others, they can often change their behavior. Many bullies will stop pesten once they realize empathy towards their victims. After all, how would they feel if someone did this to them?

Those who do not realize any empathy need deeper help. Schools should address this issue to stop pesten. This can be stopped by making policies against this type of behavior that is anti social and anti acceptable. Any type of bullying should be brought to the attention of the school and not seen as harmless.

There is help for those who are victims of pesten as well as those who want to stop pesten. They can get the right tools to learn how to combat the problem and start to make a difference in the lives of children who fall prey to bullies. The difference that they make to a child can be the difference between life and death. They can also make a difference to a bully who may not realize the consequence of their actions and may need professional help if they do not exhibit social behavior as this will also carry into adulthood. Both, parents and teachers as well as students who want to stop pesten can do so if they work together and know the problem that pesten causes. Instead of ignoring the issue, it can be addressed and steps can be taken to rid schools of this problem and make them safer and happier learning places for all children.
