The paramedics and other emergency positions are medical jobs that are underappreciated, but indeed, greatly needed.

I should know since I've been in the back of an ambulance more times than I care to remember.

As much as I've seen and learned through my experiences I should have healthcare resumes that would impress any hospital administrators. I'm kidding, of course.

As a child, I was always a tomboy, playing with my barbies at home, but bolting for the door when the boys were out playing.

When I was about 13 years old I broke my femur bone and was rushed to the hospital and helped by those medical job workers.

After two years of crutches, surgery, physical therapy and endless teasing from my middle school counterparts I was healed and ready for more(To find healthcare jobs like those mentioned above, log onto www.medicaljobmarketplace.com).

Then, when I turned 29, my husband bought me a gravity board (new kind of skateboard that simulates surfing).

One afternoon, I put my foot on the back of the board to take off and somehow it slipped out from underneath me and I fell backward.

The ...
... back of my head slammed into the ground, fracturing my skull. I was eventually rushed by ambulance to a hospital that could help me in my potential life-threatening situation. After a couple of days I was released and sent home with a bag of prescriptions for the swelling in my brain.

Fast-forward 2 years later.

After a night out with friends at a restaurant, my husband and I go home and get in bed.

A couple hours later I wake up in an ambulance vomiting. Despite my confusion I don't ask questions I let them take care of me.

After the vomiting subsides and we get to the hospital the doctor tells me I had a seizure due to the head injury suffered from falling off my skateboard.

I don't remember what the EMT's did to help me, but my husband does and he said he couldn't be more grateful.
