Why people do a background check, because they don’t trust the other or they need to know that person doesn’t hold any criminal record. The actual meaning of the background check is more deep and much more than we say it loud. It basically unfolds all the chapter of their life that the individual think is hidden. There is a general check done in most of the big corporate because that is a place where it is frequently done. In which they find out about these things criminal record, employment history, civil record, references and many other stuffs that are related to them. This is method for company to keep them safe and the employee safe that are already working in their office.
So if the individual has been arrested or has any connection or had with illegal connection they wouldn’t hire them, so that helps them to keep safe environment for staff member. When there is some kind of background check of a candidate, they might be offended but that are not the intension of the company as they are just looking out for their other employee security. These background screenings, background checks, pre-employment screening are the part of hiring pattern of every MNCs. These are different terms that are used any of the one can be used. While checking the criminal records of an individual they also might come across the list in which are they arrested or not.
As per some state law they have prohibited the companies or organization to check on the arrest records of an individual. As there might be chances of the person not being guilty. The law has freed them so the employment related decision is not allowed. So the company employee background check has prohibited them to go through that part and question the individual. They are given legal rights for the people to work. Even some companies avoid to investigate in that department because that can hamper their goodwill and customers can have different type of compliant issues from it.
As in background checking they may show some of the records that they had a criminal record but they were named not guilty. So the employer needs to understand the difference between the two. If they are said not guilty by the court, then that should understand and avoid going into deep background screening. The candidate can have expunged or sealed their records so they no longer are seen in the background check. After the person expunged their arrest records they can freely say that they do not have any record what so ever.
