Yin yoga is exactly opposite to the fast paced life we lead. This yoga focuses on holding the postures for a longer duration in absolute stillness so that we become aware of our conscience. The Yin Yoga that we practice today are highly influenced by the traditional Chinese medicine. In this practice, emphasis is given on the meridians from which our body derives its energy. The physical postures of this yoga are in direct sync with the meridian lines of health and wellbeing. It was in the 1970’s when Paulie Zink, a well-known yogi and martial artist introduced Yin Yoga to the rest of the world.
