IPhone
The bond that exists between modern technologies and humanities tend to be a love/hate relationship for most of us. There are various benefits that people get to enjoy as a result of having technology products such as iPhone. I believe that using technology is extremely important to an individual’s life. With the technological advancement and our busy way of life, the benefits of using an iPhone tend to exceed the disadvantages. In this essay, I argue why I think the iPhone is helping us rather than hurting us.
iPhone is helping us
The benefits of having an iPhone are that it is a means of entertainment, and also information is made easy to access. The advantage of owning an iPhone is that it allows for quicker response to emergencies. While considering statistics, there are about 139 000 emergency calls made every day (Stair, & Baldauf, 2008). Therefore, with a technology product such as the iPhone that makes it easy to access one another, it provides victims, police, and paramedics with a better chance of success. With the iPhone, it is also helpful as it offers a cheaper means of communication through text messaging. Using a text is cheap than when making a voice call; however, it still conveys the same message. Most of the modern version technology products such as the iPhone can double as an entertainment gadget. The iPhone has the ability of storing and playing music and also run other apps. The benefits achieved from having an iPhone makes for a two bird and one stone kind of purchase. Instead of an individual buying an MP3 player and also a phone, you only need an iPhone that will also provide entertainment benefits (Stair, & Baldauf, 2008). The iPhone has an iPod included in the design; thus, an individual does not have to carry two devices so as to listen to music and also communicate.
The iPhone has been helpful as it also allows for individual to use other applications such as a Drop box. The drop box is a free application allowing iPhone users to have access to their files, documents, photos, and also personal files. Therefore, in case an individual requires something, it is easy for them to have easy access to their personal documents without having to carry a load of documents.
Despite the helpfulness of having an iPhone, it also has some negative impacts. The iPhone hurts us through making humans lazy; people become very dependent on the technology, and it also causes health risks. Safety is a major drawback because most people tend to talk and text on their iPhone when they are doing certain things such as driving (Stair, & Baldauf, 2008). Thus, the technology product tends to put the user in a vulnerable situation to accidents and also driving infractions.
Conclusion
The iPhone product is versatile and very productive. It also has everything that one would want in any technology product. Having an iPhone is helpful as it helps in simplifying the way we do things. It increases production, saves time, improves health and also simplifies communication. Irrespective of the benefits of owning an iPhone, it results to negative effects. The negative effects include the pricey end of month’s bills, occasional repairs, and also potential health risks are possible.
