But which are the domains one should apply for? There are so many sub-disciplines under engineering students often get confused which one is the best fit for them. While some of them tend to choose a domain that aligns with their interests, others look for the ones that, in the long run, will guarantee them with a well-paid job. And there are quite a few. 1. Software engineering

These subjects are used to design, analyze, manufacture and maintain mechanical systems. Mechanical engineering is spread to various fields like computers, transport, robotics, healthcare, and military. Companies will roll over to hire a person with such high command on the technical side of the field with a very good pay package.

4. Aerospace engineering

India is making great strides in the field of space exploration. Thus, the demand for aerospace engineers have gone significantly high and it is predicted to continue that way in the future. Designing, analyzing, manufacturing and maintaining the systems that will rocket their way to space make you instantly feel proud. It is the coolest job in engineering one can fathom. 5. Petroleum engineering

Petroleum engineering is a very niche field that not many pursue. However, there is no better time to pursue it than now. With a lot of employees on the verge of retirement, there will be great demand for petroleum engineers domestically and internationally. High demand and less supply will mean a handsome pay package for the ones hired.
