5 Reasons Why Your Scholarship Application May Have Been Rejected
Higher education scholarships have become very popular today. More and more educational institutions and scholarship foundations are helping students attain their dreams of seeking higher education in reputed schools. But the pool of applicants is increasing with every passing year, which is why not all students qualify for scholarships. Scholarship providers therefore consider several factors before approving the scholarship request. If you are one of the many students whose application was rejected, it could be due to the below mentioned reasons.

You didn’t qualify for the scholarship: It is important to be realistic when you apply for the scholarship. If the scholarship is for a meritorious student and you do not qualify for it, you should not be wasting your time applying for it. Similarly, if you are studying for a diploma and the scholarship is for post-graduation courses, your application may be rejected.
You didn’t research all your options: Preparing for a good scholarship application is a time consuming process that begins with research. Ensure you are well aware of all your options and focus ...
... on procuring as much information as possible on what every scholarship for higher studies entails. Remember, the world of scholarships is highly competitive so you need to apply everywhere you are eligible; schools, private and public foundations, education trusts and so on, to minimize the chances of your application being rejected.
You didn’t answer all the questions: Every scholarship committee is unique and each one has a pre designed questionnaire that helps them determine whether or not the applicant has the abilities they are looking for. You may have an amazing academic record but that may not be the committee’s primary criteria for accepting an application. Focus on answering the questions without deviating from the point. If your application looks like it is copy-pasted and unoriginal, it may be rejected outright.
You didn’t give it the time it needed: While researching is integral to scholarship applications, so is being organised. The process of getting your documents in order can be both monotonous and time consuming, but it cannot be ignored. Arrange for all the documents required, be it your transcripts or proof of your financials (where applicable). Sending an incomplete application is the major reason why most higher education scholarships for Indian students are rejected.
You didn’t proof read your application: The acceptance or rejection of your scholarship application happens in a scenario you cannot predict. Most higher education scholarship providers lay emphasis on your application which means you have to be meticulous with it. There is no room for errors. Spelling and grammar mistakes can make it look like you did not proof-read your application before submitting it. Ensure that your application is free of errors, ask your family and friends to go through it and ensure you do not provide any false information. If possible, get a teacher/professor to write you a recommendation letter to support your application as it can have a greater impact.
