Washing Machine Problems
While many people own a washing machine, many of them do not know what makes it click. For many of them, their washing machine resembles a domestic version of the earth as it spins around the sun. All they know about their washing machine is that:
It resembles a bucket or a tub that fills with water
It uses elaborate technology to fill, spin, wash and drain the water periodically
It returns clean clothes after completing the cycle in an hour or so
With such superficial knowledge, you can well understand their bemusement when they find that their machine does not work properly and needs washing machine repair services.
However, understanding the mechanisms behind a washing machine is not difficult. Two water supply hoses deliver hot and cold water to the water inlet valve inside the washer housing. Based on the temperature setting selected, the water mixes and enters the interior of the tub. The washing machine’s control panel has a pressure switch. This switch determines the extent to which the tub contains water – again, based on the washing load selected. ...
... Once the water level reaches the desired levels, the water inlets close and the wash cycle commences. Front-loading machines have revolving tubs while top-loading models use agitators. Timers present inside the washer control indicate that the machine needs to drain the dirty water. This cycle continues until the completion of the wash cycle.
Regular care and maintenance can keep your washing machine in perfect working condition. However, wear and tear issues could make you look for quality washing machine repair services. Common problems that you could face with your washing machine are:
Washing machines do not work when you switch them on: Usually, power outlet issues could cause this. In this case, you would need the help of your electricians. However, if this is not the case, your machine might have a defective part. This could be a defective timer, motor or lid switch.
Washing machines work, but do not spin: A belt powers the spinning motion of the machine. Therefore, if the machine works but does not spin, it could be that your machine has a broken belt or coupling.
Washing machines do not take in water: If your water outlet is working fine, you might need to check the water fill valve, the water temperature switch or the timer.
Washing machines do not drain the water completely: Usually an SOS to the plumber could help in unclogging your drains. However, if you don’t have a clogged drain, a defective pump or drain hose could be your problem.
