It is best practice to get your deck pressure washed annually. With that being said, there are certain times of the year that it is best to pressure wash your deck. It is not a good idea to pressure wash your deck if there is a chance of the temperature dropping below freezing. The deck needs time to dry after pressure washing and if the temperature drops too low then the deck will freeze over. A good rule of thumb is to have your pressure washing done when the temperature is above 52 degrees both during the day and at night and there is no rain or other condensation that could effect the wood.

It’s important to clean off your deck as best you can before washing it. Remove all items from the deck to make enough space to clean the area. Make sure that there are not any windows or doors open nearby where water could be sprayed into. Ensure all safety standards and quality standards are preformed before stepping onto the deck or putting any furniture or other items back.

Pressure washing not only cleans your deck from any debris or dirt but also helps your deck maintain its’ original integrity and allows it to shine like new. Along with pressure washing you may consider having areas of your deck inspected to see if any repairs are necessary.
