Who has made the earth your couch, and the heavens your canopy; and sent down rain from the heavens, and brought forth therewith Fruits for your sustenance; then set not up rivals unto Allah when ye know (the truth). Truly, the date is the fruit which is highly recommended by the Holy Prophet (SAW) particularly in the month of Ramadan to break the Fast as it is striking ingredient with full of energy.

The Messenger of Allah (SWT) said, “Discontinue your fast by eating dates as it is refining,” (Ahmad).

According to another tradition, the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said, “If you have a date, break your fast with it, if you don’t have it, break the fast with water as it is purifying.” (Abu Dawood)
