Most of the times, people come into your life and you realize right away they were meant to be there. These people serve some kind of purpose, they teach you a lesson, or they assist you find out who you are or who you dream to be in future. You never know who these people maybe possibly you neighbor, roommate, co-worker, lover, long-lost a friend or a total stranger. When you lock eyes with these people, you realize that they will affect your life in some intense way.
All my life I was wandering about with no direction. My parents were not there for me when I needed them. All they cared about was their jobs. Money and work were the only things my parents bothered about. They believed money brings happiness. Every day after school, I would to our house it was empty of people only furnished with the exquisite ornament from Rome and Italy. But that was not what I really needed. One day I was just at home all alone. I lied down and cried. I cried the whole afternoon. I remember how many times I wanted my parents to come back. I recalled all those empty promises they use to tell me. Years after years they promised they would ...
... stay with me after they got promoted. I used to wonder was it too much for my parents to be there for me. I did not need the money they were working for all the time. My parents did not know what food I like to eat or what my hobby was. They were never there to fulfill my spiritual self.
When all this was going on, I began seeking belonging and attention with these people I called friends. I actually went down the wrong path. I started drinking alcohol, smoking cigarettes and gambling with these friends. We used to party from Monday to Friday. I was involved with a bad company of people. At that time, I felt fulfillment in doing all that and I thought I was in paradise with them. Shortly I went deeper and deeper to this wrong trail. I smoked pot and abandoned what was important. I spent much of my time not in school since there was no one to question me. My classmate came to me and talked to me about my behavior. They tried to transform and help me. But they shortly gave up because I continued indulging in those wrong activities. But there was somebody who did not give up on me that was Mrs. Mary. She was my teacher. I recall her calling me every afternoon for a chat. At first I was reluctant to reach out to her. I was silent because I did not want to tell her about the friends I was hanging out with. I also did not want to let her know what I did outside school.
One day she asked me a solemn question, when you grow up is this life what you want to become. The question jolted me back to reality. I remembered all those activities I did and suddenly I felt ashamed of myself. Is that what I really want with my life, to drink or to smoke? Do I really want a miserable future? Slowly I opened up to her. Mrs. Mary was there by my side supporting me in all ways. She made me realized what I was doing was wrong and I had to change to become a better person. I kicked out the bad company of friends. Mrs. Mary informed my parents what I was facing. My relationship with my parents slowly started to improve. At first my parents were angry at my misbehavior but they later became supportive. Every day I woke up with a bright smile on my face.
I learned that each day, every moment, and every decision I make, made a big difference in someone’s life. The people I have met, in this instance Mrs. Mary, have made a significant impact on my life. Without her presence, I doubt I would be a better person I am today. My so called friends have also made a tremendous effect in my life. The people you encounter with will definitely change you. It might be your sister or the man you just smiled at on the street. The people you meet affect your success, your life, downfalls you experience, help to create a person you become in future. People can also learn from bad experiences. In fact, they are the most touching and important ones. Many times things occur to you that may appear horrible, painful, and unfair initially. But in reflection you realize that without defeating those problems you would have never realized your strength, potential, willpower, or heart.
It is true that anything happens for a reason. Nothing occurs by chance or by means of luck. Injury, love, illness, lost moments of true greatness, and sheer stupidity all happen to test the boundaries of your soul.
