2 Medical Conditions That Could Stop You From Joining Indian Armed Forces

Why Armed Forces are Too Serious About Medical Conditions?
Be it Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, or any paramilitary forces, they always make their aspirants go through some strict medical screening processes, so they could choose only crème de la crème. This is because the selection panel knows that a physical or mental disability of any kind would pose a threat when soldiers have to perform their national duty.
And of the many physical disabilities that fall into this category, two have become a major challenge for many aspirants preparing to Join Indian Army Recruitment 2019. And these two medical conditions are Knock Knee and Flat Foot. Both medical conditions have broken so many dreams than anyone could care to imagine. But one good news is, both are curable. So with wasting any time, let us have a look at what causes these conditions in our body, and how can one get rid of them.
Knock-Knee
Commonly called as Knock Knees, the scientific name for this medical condition is Genu valgum. The condition is mostly ...
... chronic, resulting from either of the below-mentioned cases:
Deficiency of Vitamin D
Malnutrition during early growth years
Skeletal Defect Since Birth
In this condition, the knees of both legs touch each other instead of being at the correct angle with their respective side of hip bones. People suffering from this condition can seldom pass the army medical tests because medical professionals are of the opinion that such aspirants can’t run at the proper pace in the presence of such disorder.
Common Treatments at Home
People with excessive knock knee condition can’t even dream of making it into the armed forces. But like any other problem, this one too has many levels. And If you too are suffering from a little of it, then you could try any of these solutions to help you get rid of it.
Put a pillow between your legs while sleeping.
Try some basic yogic postures that include leg based stretching
Go for long walks and a good number of body-weight squats.
Flat Foot
Much like Knock knee, Flat foot too causes a hindrance when performing military exercises that require excessive running. Many medical experts have suggested that flat foot can even be a major cause of injury when performing many athletic activities. When suffering from this condition, an individual’s foot has little to no arch.
Some major causes of falt foot include:
Ankle or foot injury
Heredity
Arthritis
Although a severe flat foot defect could only be cured by having a medical surgery, a little of it could be easily cured by practicing some simple techniques at home. These techniques are:
Performing exercises to stretch and strengthen calf muscles
Crumbling a dry towel with help of the foot
Performing the stands for the right periods of time
Rolling a rubber ball by placing it under your foot.
Using footwear with an inbuilt raised portion at the inner side
