Beaches That Make Your Mauritius Holidays Truly Memorable

An island located in the Indian Ocean, Mauritius has all the ingredients that would make your holiday in the island country worth cherishing. Crystal-clear turquoise waters of the ocean, white-sand beaches set against the backdrop of swaying coconut palms, and a fascinating local culture are some of the key highlights of the island. For many tourists, Mauritius seems no less than a paradise. The lagoons created by coral reefs around the island provide ideal conditions for you to indulge in some exciting activities like swimming, snorkelling, and scuba diving. However, the beaches of the island are what most of the tourists seek while holidaying in this island nation.
Your cheap holidays to Mauritius would allow you to explore some of these beaches. Among them is the Trou aux Biches, located a few kilometres south-west of Grand Bay. It is considered by many as the best beach on the island considering its quality of sand, pleasant environs, and the facilities available for its visitors. Trou aux Biches stretches to about 2 kilometres and is a great place to relax under the warm sun or to try some water sports. You can also ...
... savour the delightful view of the sunset on this beach just before dusk.
Mont Choisy is yet another fabulous beach you can explore during your Mauritius holidays. This public beach is located to the north-east of Trou aux Biches between Mont Choisy and Pointe aux Cannoniers. Stretching to about 3 kilometres, it is lined with casuarina trees that offer a relaxing shade to its visitors who wish to avoid the sun while unwinding on this beach. This white-sand beach is quite empty during the weekdays, but it gets crowded during the weekends as the locals visit in great numbers with their family or friends. You'll find some excellent facilities on Mont Choisy Beach for aerobics, jogging, and water skiing.
Located near the port city of Mahebourg, Blue Bay Beach is also a fantastic beach worth visiting during your Mauritius holidays. Upon getting to this beach, you'll find the crystal clear, blue waters of the ocean touching the powdery sands. Residents of the Mahebourg city head to this beach on most of the weekends to chill out with their friends or family. So, if you're planning to visit this beach, it is recommended that you get to this beach during weekdays when it is nearly empty. You'll enjoy taking a stroll on this beach and watching the beautiful bays. It is also popular for the biggest marine park in the country, the Blue Bay Marine Park.
During your time spent in Mauritius, you can also explore the Belle Mare Beach, which is also one of the most attractive beaches in the island country. It begins at the Belle Mare village and stretches to the village of Trou d'Eau Douce. It is well-known among tourists for its calm waters and a deep lagoon that runs between the beach and the shoreline. This long stretch of white sands is perfect for jogging as well as enjoying a pleasant stroll. It also has a pleasing serenity that would instantly relax your senses.
