Press your hand on the carpet. If it comes with droplets of water upon lifting your hand, you need to work on the extraction of water with spray off. Do this until your hand does not come off with water from the carpet. Carpet care needs patience, and it is not a minor task.

You have to let the carpet dry overnight before you let anyone walk on it. You can not place the furniture on it until it gets thoroughly dry.
