In addition to the Public Safety Command Center, the acquisition will enable Motorola to position its security operations centers for key business customers.
In addition, the company can sell its entire product line through Avtec's channel partners. Motorola plans to integrate its growing software suite with Avigilon's video surveillance products into the Avtec console series.
The company introduced the Si200 body-worn camera to facilitate investigations by agencies. The camera captures high-definition video and has other advanced features to help integrate public safety workflows. It is combined with CommandCentral Vault (Motorola's Digital Evidence Management Solution) to enable survey agencies to manage content from live capture to judicial processes under an integrated platform. In addition, Motorola acquired VaaS International Holdings, Inc., a data and image analysis company, for $445 million in cash and equity.
The deal expands Motorola's footprint in the command center software portfolio and has the largest vehicle location information shareable database. Motorola is expected to see strong demand for land mobile radio products, services and software. In addition, its competitive position and attractive portfolio for large addressable markets heralds healthy revenue growth. Driven by efforts to implement operational strategies and increased traction in the market for coveted solutions, Motorola's average stock return was 18.1%, compared to 3.1% in the past three months.
