Samsung Galaxy S 1o Has An Issue Of You Won’t Find On Galaxy 9
SAMSUNG's new Galaxy S10 was released earlier this month and offers a huge upgrade to the Galaxy S9. However, there are problems with the phone and there is no easy solution.
Samsung's latest Galaxy S10 is now available for sale, no doubt this is one of the company's best smartphones ever.
The device includes extensive updates and new features, including a faster processor, three rear-facing cameras and a full edge-to-edge display that covers more of the front of the phone.
In our recent Galaxy S10 review, Express.co.uk said: "There is no doubt that the Galaxy S10+ is one of Samsung's best mobile phones ever.
“It looks great, with an incredible three-in-one rear camera, good battery life and additional features such as the ability to wirelessly refill other devices.
“The screen is also one of the best screens we've ever seen, making sure your content is better than ever.”
Obviously there is a lot of things about S10, but one thing we don't believe is the new security features.
Unlike the S9 with a rear fingerprint scanner, the Galaxy S10 now includes an embedded sensor located ...
... below the display.
This ultrasonic technology simply unlocks the device by pressing the thumb on the screen.
This sounds impressive and should be a huge improvement over the irritating knapsack scanners found on previous phones, but in fact, we haven't found it to be as fast or easy to use as the standard scanner on the Galaxy S9.
And we are not the only ones who have noticed other comments, and the Samsung User Forum complains that the scanner is very scratched.
To help unlock the device faster, Samsung also uses facial recognition technology to unlock the phone simply by watching it.
In our tests, this is much faster than using our fingers, but there may be a big reason why users might want to avoid it.
Unlike Apple's new iPhone, the S10 doesn't have 3D mapping capabilities, and some tests have shown that this security feature is easily fooled.
In fact, the technology website The Verge only held the S10 in front of the user's face video, and the S10 unlocked without any problems.
S9 solved this problem by using iris recognition, but Samsung has given up on the S10.
Samsung has apparently realized that its facial features are not safe, because TechRadar sent a statement to the team saying: "Face recognition is a convenient way to turn on the phone. For operations that require strong security, Samsung recommends using a new display ultrasound fingerprint. Can only be unlocked by physical fingerprint.
“The Ultrasound Fingerprint Scanner has been certified by the FIDO Alliance and has the world's first Biometric Component Certification, which recognizes its security and industry best practices similar to Treasury for biometric devices.”
Therefore, for the safest way to unlock the S10, you'd better use an embedded scanner.
Fortunately, Samsung realized that this sensor needs improvement, and the Korean company said that performance will continue to improve through future software updates.
In an interview with the Korea Herald, Samsung officials said: "In many cases, users will find fingerprint scanners not working properly, for example, when you are in a dry environment, or your fingers are really dry, or your fingerprints. There are scratches."
“The first update of the software in just one week since its launch has improved accuracy, and we will continue to provide updates to make the scanner work better.”
We will have to wait to see what changes have been made to the inbound, but for now, the S9 has a slight security advantage over the new S10.
