Bathroom Window Sill Styles

When it comes to creating an area of comfort and elegance in home the bathroom is always the focus. It is the one room where you always want to feel at home. One aspect of a bathroom which is easily overlooked is the window sill. There are varying windowsill styles, and around the home, few carry the same sense of luxury as window sill styled with marble.
Window sills vary in many subtle ways. The size and design of a window sill can often vary, from cheap simple wooden sills, to a high quality sturdy marble window sill. While the choice of a window sill design is a personal choice, it is always important to choose the right material.
Despite its cheap price, and abundance in many hardware stores, wooden window sills are particularly unsuitable for bathrooms, since they easily become damaged by water and steam.
Many households, especially those with double glazing, use PVC window sills. PVC is much more durable than wooden window sills, although not as sturdy or as good looking as marble bathroom window sill styles. The real downside in PVC is its tendency to attract mold in damp or moist environments, ...
... making them unsuitable for most bathroom environments.
To help deal with the downsides of PVC and wood, a lot of households have tiled window sills. This is a great solution, but often appears bland, and merges the window sill in to the tiled walls around it. A window sill should always be clearly defined. Tiles are also easily cracked when placing heavy objects, such as a potted plant, without due care.
Granite window sills are fairly uncommon, and can be very expensive, however it does have some benefits. Its resilience is outstanding, and it does have a unique look about it. Unfortunately the granite bathroom window sill style seems to suit only a few people, and is easily outclassed by even an average quality marble window sill.
Marble window sills are a common bathroom window sill style. The hint of luxury, perfect durability, resistance to wear, and tear, not to mention their polished surface which keeps them easy to clean and maintain are all great benefits. Marble is one of the strongest window sill designs that you can buy, and is resistant to temperature changes, steam and dampness, and knocks from heavy objects.
Every single marble pattern is completely unique, and each one will look beautiful when polished and installed as a bathroom window sill. The beauty of marble has long been recognized for a long time, and has been used in castles and stately homes for both its elegance and rich style. Marble also comes in a wide range of colors and patterns, so you will easily be able to find a bathroom window sill style that matches the rest of your bathroom design.
While all the window sill styles have their benefits, no other style has quite the same elegance and durability that marble provides.
