This article sums up the trends involving ERP development that you need to contemplate to ensure that your ERP solution is up-to-date and runs in line with modernised operations of the business.

While it is of no doubt that more than 70% of enterprises are going for digital transformation, ERP persists to be a key IT technology at their disposal to achieve that. A discreetly developed ERP solution empowers the organisations to organise, preserve, and utilise data and various information. It leaves a huge valuable impact on the functioning of an organisation, from human resources, accounting to purchases and marketing. While it is and will remain the core system of every modern business organisation you need to understand what new things are around the ERP development so that your solution is competitive and competent enough to deal with modern-day business challenges.

Here are the major ERP trends that are playing around now and you should be bearing in mind for your ERP investments.

Cloud operations
We have long entered the era of cloud services and so this year it is high time for you to move your ...
... ERP operations to the cloud. Cloud ERP solutions are gaining momentum because they save up the huge costs required for in-house servers or hardware installation and in maintenance, upgradation of the same. The cloud ERP service providers are only in charge of maintaining, upgrading, and inducing security parameters in the solution from time to time. Other benefits of cloud deployment are broader access, easy management and top-notch security.

Inbuilt analytics
While existing ERP solutions are equipped to garner and organise data of different internal and external processes in a business, they are not competent at analysing the data to help entrepreneurs or managers in decision-making. However, when today data-driven decisions have become a prior need for businesses to move ahead, the ERP should be embedded with tools to collect real-time information, help members run ad-hoc reports, and get data visualisations.

Personalised solutions
Off-the-shelf or packaged ERP solutions are no more an option for businesses. Every business is different from each other, their processes vary a lot, and so each needs a specialised solution that will just suit their unique requirement. While ERP is looked as the cornerstone of enterprises to indulge in automation and digital transformation, a solution that will deeply embed into each of their departments and will be convenient for the members to operate is needed. Thus, custom ERP solutions built in discussion with technical ERP consultants are increasing in demand while traditional generic ones are fading out.

Navigate your investments on the ERP in the right way by taking care of these occurring tendencies. However, don’t forget that the best way to get the ERP solution that serves your business right still remains the same, i.e. getting the best vendor or partner for ERP development. With an adept team of ERP consultants, they can analyse your processes well and determine the soundest solution to put into your organisation.
