Buying perfume has always been an overwhelming task. With a number of brands and tons of options lying around on shelves, deciding on that one single product is always difficult. You might like something in the store but once you reach home, it starts smelling different making you doubt your own selection. You must have read many articles, taken tips from the perfume experts and your favourite celebrity, but all this goes in vain when you don’t find that one fragrance. If you have been facing difficulty in purchasing that one perfect fragrance, maybe you need to work on those simple small mistakes that we all make while buying a fragrance.

Smelling too many perfumes:

This is one of the common mistakes one can make. In the urge of getting that desired fragrance, you end up smelling perfume after perfume in the perfume shop near me. This might not seem weird in the beginning but after a while, you will start losing the track of all the scents. Instead of confusing your olfactory senses with too many fragrances, you can try 2-3 fragrances at a single point of time. Take breaks in between trying different perfumes. You can also start with gentle scent moving towards stronger ones.

Not understanding the terms:

Every perfume has certain terms written on them, which speaks about the content of the bottle. Before buying the perfume, you must do a little research about the fragrances and understand what they are all about. How Eau de parfum is different from eau de toilette or Eau de fraiche is good or the cologne. It will help you in understanding the perfume in a better way.

Being clueless about the perfume family:

Most of the people step into the stores without having any idea about what they like. It can make it difficult for the salesperson as well as you for finding that right scent. You cannot try all the perfumes available without having a direction in mind. First find out what is your ideal perfume family, whether you like strong fragrances or gentle ones, with such answers in mind, you will be able to make an informed decision finding the right fragrance.

Trying on someone else:

Another classic mistake one can make while buying a perfume is trying it on someone else. A perfume comes alive when it is sprayed on the skin and mixes with your pheromones. If you wish to understand how a perfume will smell, try it on your own skin. If you do it on someone else’s skin, the perfume will smell different which may affect your experience.

You can avoid most of these problems by ordering tester shots and miniature perfumes at online perfume stores in India. Try them at the comfort of your home before deciding on the big perfume bottle. Once decided, you can buy these perfume bottles from the local stores near you or get them on discounted prices online on reputed perfume stores selling international fragrances. Keep all this in mind and avoid those simple mistakes.
