Introduction
Homestyle hotels Inc. is a combination of Lifestyle Resorts and Home Away Hotels. They both operate in silos, and they do not have any standardized mechanisms in place for capturing the information of the customers. The IT director had an idea initially to amalgamate the firm’s Information Technology across the business, but the higher authority failed to give the necessary backup (McKeen & Smith, 2011). The authority had more on their plans instead of backing up the IT director or coming to a consensus.Their aim was for having a comprehensive picture which according to them would present a better view of the public. Despite the hotels having very good plans,there is a lack of adequate amalgamation of the hotels as they have diversity in their way of operation. There was a problem in choosing among the vendors who came to present their software to the Homestyle Hotels.

Their divisions and the executives need to join efforts and cooperate to make well-informed decisions that make them have the anticipated success in their endeavors.
Studies also have it that the merger does not make use of the organizational view approach to their business. There is a lack of differentiation of responsibilities between the two business co-workers, and that makes it problematic to effect the graceful integration. The management of the merger has to identify the areas of cooperation and join it with the necessary business intelligence techniques for the achievement of their vision. Their vision, mission, and objectives need to have a single picture for them to have the assurance of success in their endeavors. The two lines of business operating independently should come to an agreement on a corporate vision and objectives and reduce the conflicting of objectives if they need prosperity. The corporate sponsors must chip in to arrest the lack of the organizational view that is present in the business or else they expect failure to any strategy for success without their active involvement. The current situation is crippled further by the fact that the efforts are made to the tactical level, and no inclusion of the executives in the decisions made.
What to integrate
The areas to have integration are the operational information, the HR information, and business intelligence, performance information, the communication systems information and relationship information.
Operational information: Since the two LOBs are now a merge, the integration of the operational information will make it possible for both LOBs to harvest the fruits of their investment.
 HR information: The tow lines of business that are now working as one should carry out the staff management in the right way so as to arrest any sources of failure.
 Business Intelligence: Having enough information for deployment in business intelligence system will make the merger gain maximum value of the business (McKeen & Smith, 2014). That is very crucial for the IM of the two LOBs as the BI aids in the making of better and market-oriented decisions.
 Communication systems information: The integration of communications systems information of the two LOBs will ensure the harmonious co-working for delivery of better services and products. The communication systems information will also ensure there is sharing of valuable information where necessary to alleviate any issue arising in the course of their transactions.
 Relationship information: there should be the collection of the relationship information, and this will make it possible to have purchasing information centralization and subsequent outsourcing.
