Irritable Bowel Syndrome - How Is Stress Related To This?
Stress induces the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome. Diet is not always the culprit for irritable bowel syndrome, there are other reasons too. Stress may also cause problems although your eating habits are right. Tension can put a lot of pressure on your stomach walls and cause the symptoms of the IBS. Diarrhoea, vomiting flatulence etc are commonly seen even when you are affected by tension and pressure.
The feeling of IBS is quite distressing. Having been stressed, the digestive system becomes over active. This may give rise to feeling of gas, abdominal pain, bloating and cramping too. You may go through distressing experience when you are under tension. If you suffer from IBS, you must eat plenty of yoghurt. Get into the habit of eating a bowl of curds every day. When your digestive system gets over active, it brings about feeling of gas in your stomach. Abdominal pain may be due to this feeling of gaseousness.
Are you suffering from IBS caused due to your food habits? You must be trying to treat this, mean while you have some kind of tension, this will come in the way of your treatment of IBS. Therefore, ...
... it is important to control your tension and anxiety through breathing exercise and yoga. Meditation helps to control your anxiety and in turn will help your IBS too. Learn to breathe deeply when you start to feel anxious. Make a note of your feelings and thoughts. When there is some negative thought, take a deep breath! By taking fewer but deeper breaths you will optimise your oxygen intake, helping you to relax and remain calm.
Exercise is another way to control your bowel movements as well as mental tension! It is important to carry out exercise every day and keep your problems at bay! It enables you to vent your frustration and causes the brain to produce more of the happy hormones endorphins so try to work up a sweat for at least 20 minutes a day. Even a short walk can help to combat stress and increase your energy, and fitness levels.
Passiflora has been used for centuries as a mild sedative and is particularly beneficial when mixed with other restorative herbs such as Avena sativa. Eating the right foods can help counteract the effects of tension and strain. Simple, whole foods can help relieve tension. You will need to get ample amounts of vitamin C, an immune booster for when your C levels drop when you're under pressure.
