Diet modification: If you have been eating junk, you must minimise this. Reduce the intake of fried foods, margarine, meats, fatty food products and other dairy products. Add fibre to your diet, it helps your digestive system functioning.
Fried and spicy food adds upto your problems. Correct your gastro intestinal ailments and improve your digestive system too. Spicy food items may make situation worse and can also cause heart burning sensation. Hot pepper causes diarrhoea and it may bring about spasms in your large intestines.
Beverage shift:
If you are having coffee, avoid it or cut down on its intake. Caffeine present in them will bring about irritation in your intestines and cause heart burning sensation and worsen the symptoms of spastic colon. Broccoli, cabbage and other flatulence causing vegetables must be avoided. Flatulence is one of the symptom of spastic colon and hence these food products must be avoided!
Nicotine found in cigarettes can worsen the irritable bowel syndrome or IBS. ...
... This enters into your gut and creates a bad impact on your gut health. You may soon face irritable bowel conditions which may worsen the whole digestive system. Digestive problems can cause all manner of health problems ranging from body odour to tumors and cancers. It may some times lead to bad skin problems too. Chronic heart burning sensation, diarrhoea, gastritis etc are commonly prevalent in people suffering from digestive conditions. Avoid all those which may aggravate these symptoms!
Eat what is easy on your gut health and avoid the following:
Don't chew gum or candy that contains artificial sweeteners. Among the common sweeteners in these products are sorbitol and mannitol, which can have a laxative effect. They're very difficult to digest. When bacteria in your colon eventually break down these nonabsorbed sugars, you get gas and diarrhea.
Stop smoking. Nicotine contributes to IBS flare-ups. Also, when you smoke, you swallow air, and people with IBS are very sensitive to having air in their gut.
Most people, instead of cleaning out their colons, use incense, air wicks, underarm deodorants, foot powder, mouthwash, toothpaste, breath fresheners, perfumed sprays and perfumes to cover up the body odour caused by impacted faecal matter.
Ginger helps to correct flatulence (gas in the stomach). This herb is used to alleviate gas that is accumulated as the bile starts flowing into this area, mixing with old fecal matter and forming this condition. It is also an aid for relieving cramps and pains.
